An idea was conceived “A Center for All”
A group of dedicated leaders came together to discuss the growing community in the west side of Columbus, OH and the need for a center and a place of worship for them. It was this need that gradually led to the establishment of Abubakar Asiddiq Islamic Center on August 2004 at a leased place on 3437 Sullivant Ave. Furthermore, these dedicated leaders pursued the dream of their community and incorporated the Center on September 2006. On August 2007 the center purchased almost 10 Acres of land at the North West corner of Sullivant Ave and Industrial Mile RD. On June 2009 the center signed contract with Maverick Builders Inc. And on February 2010 first phase of the construction began. Phase one includes a Masjid, 8 classrooms, multipurpose community hall, library, computer lab and a number of offices for the staff. Abubakar Asiddiq Islamic Center strives to become a center for all. The center will address the needs of the community by providing space for Muslims and other communities of faith for dialogue. In addition to serving the needs of the Muslim community, Abubakar Asiddiq Islamic Center will build strong and constructive relationship with the larger society. Thus, the Center will advance the cause of the Muslim Community by engaging the civic, religious, and elected leaders of our state.
